The choice of the best free Mario game for the Nintendo Switch Mario Bundle can often come down to preference, with each game bringing something different to the table. For others, though, the expansive options can be exhilarating. With large, open environments, this isn't the title for gamers who prefer focused platforming of the 2D games or Super Mario Galaxy. The games I tested were:ġ9XXTE v11 - Some texture issues, worked fine otherwise. ROM hacks worked fine, and used the same base ROM from when I patched them. I've yet to try repatching certain games, but other Mario and Smash Bros. I'm aware that earlier Mario ROM hacks don't work due to being made with tools designed for inaccurate emulators as opposed to real hardware, but the hacks I got were said to be console compatible. Most of the Mario ROM hacks refused to boot, despite the fact I downloaded console-compatible versions. Smash Remix froze whenever I tried getting to the character select screen, giving me a "thread 5" error.
However, upon going through my list, I found that most of those ROM hacks (despite being marked as "console-compatible" or "console-friendly") refused to boot, or froze partway through the game. 64, Super Mario Odyssey 64, Super Mario Star Road. Smash Remix 0.9.2 and 0.9.3, Super ADHD 64, Super Mario Bros. I finally got an expansion pak, so I was looking forward to trying out all those radical ROM hacks I've been seeing online. I put the latest OS on it, from Krikzz's website itself. A few months ago I bought myself an ED64 from Stone Age Gamer.
